About Milk & Cookies

Nestled on a quiet stretch of Rice Boulevard in Houston, Milk & Cookies is more than just a coffee shop—it’s a heartfelt homage to the simple joys of baked goods and crafted ice cream. The moment you step inside or pull up in the evening, you’re greeted by the soulful melodies of 50’s doo-wop and 60’s soul classics, setting a nostalgic ambiance that transports you back in time. This atmosphere perfectly complements their offerings, where each bite and sip feels like a warm memory coming to life.

Their chocolate chip cookies have garnered a devoted following, and after tasting them myself, it’s easy to see why. They strike the perfect balance of buttery sweetness and chewy texture, making it no surprise that patrons return time and again. Alongside the cookies, their cinnamon rolls stand out—a delightful harmony of spice and sweetness, topped with icing that’s neither too much nor too little, ideal for sharing or solo indulgence.

Baked goods here are crafted with care, as the quality of the dough is immediately apparent—soft, fresh, and perfectly baked to a golden finish. For those craving something savory, the sandwich selection is a revelation. The Prosciutto Sandwich, layered with brie, peppery arugula, and a balsamic glaze on flaky croissant bread, delivers a sophisticated flavor profile that’s both vibrant and comforting.

But Milk & Cookies doesn’t stop at bread and sweets. Their ice cream—a true masterpiece—commands attention. The Vanilla Caramel Crunch, with its creamy base, subtle caramel sweetness, and buttery toffee crumbles, offers a complex yet balanced indulgence. This ice cream isn’t merely dessert; it’s an experience that evokes nostalgia and joy with every spoonful.

While their Matcha Tea Latte might fall short compared to the stellar ice cream, it still holds its own, especially when paired with their branded Miir tumblers—a smart nod to sustainability with a tasty incentive. The staff here contribute as much to the charm as the menu, with quick, attentive service that feels personal and sincere.

Milk & Cookies is a neighborhood gem that seamlessly blends classic comfort with artisanal craft. Whether stopping by for a freshly baked seasonal bread, savoring a box lunch complete with chips and a cookie, or lingering over their soul-stirring ice cream and coffee, every visit promises warmth, quality, and a hint of sweet nostalgia. It’s a place where time slows, and good taste prevails.

My favorite chocolate chip cookie in all of houston! I Always have to stop by when I’m in the area. The brownies are good that my wife in kids love. They also have other sweet and drinks that can you can try out.

I’ve been here a couple of times and this might be my favorite place to get ice cream in Houston. When you pull up it doesn’t look like much and it’s on a quiet side street off of Rice Boulevard. At least it’s quiet in the evening when I’ve gone. The parking lot is small but easily accessible. Don’t worry about the parking though because the service is quick, so you won’t be there long unless you just want to sit in your car and eat ice cream. That actually sounds like a good idea. When you exit your vehicle, you will be met by the soulful and beautiful sounds of 50’s doowop and 60’s soul classics. Standing there, in the cool evening at dusk, I felt transported to the past and had to double check my flux capacitor. When I say the service is fast, I mean fast. Like Quicksilver saving all the X-men from an explosion fast. No sooner did I say what I wanted, glance down at my wallet and my cup of ice cream and drink were being placed in front of me. I ordered the Vanilla Caramel Crunch and it was delightful. Probably the best ice cream I’ve had in the last few years. No doubt whoever is making this ice cream is a master at their craft. The Vanilla is creamy, the caramel subtle but impossible not to notice its signature sweetness. The crumbles perfectly complement with a buttery toffee crunch that somehow reminds me of little league baseball. I felt like my ice cream dreams were coming true or, since I felt like I was back in time, Jeanie came out of her lamp and granted me a wish. Shoutout Barbara Eden. I ordered a Matcha Tea Latte as well. Now this was not nearly as good as the ice cream. It tasted too much like milk and not enough like matcha but it wasn’t horrible. After eating that wonderful ice cream, I was in no position to complain. The ambiance here is spectacular. The service is undeniably first-rate. The ice cream is heavenly. This isn’t Reading Rainbow but in the words of Levar Burton, “You don’t have to take my word for it “ tah dah tah…Come see for yourself!

Milk and Cookies West U is a delightful gem in the heart of Houston, offering a nostalgic escape with every visit. From their famous chocolate chip cookies to the array of baked goods, each bite brings back cherished childhood memories. The cinnamon rolls are a perfect blend of sweet and spice, and the strawberry ice cream is a refreshing delight. Don’t miss their mint lemonade - it’s a unique and invigorating twist on a classic. What really stands out is the dough of their baked goods; it’s always fresh, soft, and perfectly baked. The ice cream, especially the chocolate chip variety, is creamy and rich, with just the right consistency. The aesthetic appeal of the store, with its inviting window display, adds to the charm of this neighborhood favorite. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bun or indulging in a sugar cookie, Milk and Cookies West U offers an experience that’s both familiar and wonderfully new each time.

Do not hesitate to try this place! Absolutely amazing! The staff - 10/10! The cookies - 10/10! The coffee & matcha - 10/10! The ice cream - 10 out of freaking 10! I absolutely loved this place so much when visiting that I went back two more times while I was there! It’s the cutest, best place!

The cinnamon roll was amazing! The icing was the perfect balance of sweetness and the size is just right for you to share with a loved one. The staff were amazing and the location is such a cute shop to snap pictures for the gram. I’ll definitely be back to get some more. There cinnamon rolls do sell out fast, so make sure you call in advance.

Delicious chocolate cookies!! Their classic milk & cookies ice cream was unique and just the right amount of sweetness!! Definitely worth a visit! This location does not have outdoor/indoor seating, it is more of a window you order from for to-go only. Their sugar cookies were a lot harder and not as sweet in our opinion - would recommend sticking with the chocolate chip cookies.

What a cute little hole in the wall! They don't have a huge selection of cookies, but their chocolate chip cookies are DELICIOUS! They will warm them up for you, and it turns the cookie into a soft gooey delight. There are other pastries and coffee options available as well, but you can also just get a cup of milk to dip your cookies into. Downside: there isn't any seating

Best ice cream and cookies, as per the name. I haven’t had an order I disliked. I come once a month and try something new each time. Their coconut chocolate is my favorite ice cream. Chocolate chip cookies are perfect. Can’t compare to anything else in Houston.
